m0dest

m0dest is a pseudonymous cryptoartist who works by one rule: make something every day, and make it different from the day before. The output moves between glitching animation, video, still images and small browser works. The catalog linked from the artist's site counts more than 1,200 minted tokens, most of them released with Transient Labs.

The name first appeared in December 2023, when m0dest took part in Transient Labs' AlterEgo project at Art Basel as an anonymous contributor, and kept going after it. In a 2025 interview with Now Media, the artist said an early core of collectors came from the GRIFTERS community and described the work in chapters: self-analysis first, then error messages, about repairing broken moments of digital life, then storytelling.

The artist calls OBEY THE PROMPT (2025) a turning point. For 28 days the holder of a Grandmaster token picked one of ten machine-generated prompts, and m0dest had 24 hours to answer it. Its eleventh featured work, Monkey Miner, became the monkey miners, 99 variations each reworked with image processing. Other series include CØПSᎮЇЯΛŦØЯS, accomplices and the 192-piece s h a d o w s.

m0dest also made death and taxes, an onchain survival game in which 6,969 citizens owe a daily tax that rises over time and the last 69 share the treasury. In 2026 the artist made card #443 of The Memes by 6529.
