About Jules

Jules is a Los Angeles artist who works online as nicedayJules. His work deals with time, beauty, love and loss, and much of it grows out of photographs and footage he takes himself, of flowers, objects and places, which he then reworks digitally. On the NorCal and Shill podcast he traced his start to work in fashion alongside major designers.

The Flowers Project (2022) is a series of 50 one-of-one photographs. He staged and shot each flower, then ran the images through a circuit-bent CRT rig. Every token reads Chainlink's ETH/USD price feed. While Ether trades below its price of a day earlier, the flower shows its final state, a distorted negative that loops, and when the price recovers it returns to the still photograph. In The Garden, other artists, so far CYDR and Olivia Pedigo, reimagine all 50 flowers, each new token bound onchain to its original. An installation of The Garden was shown at Roys in Marfa, Texas, in 2025.

Objective Theory, an ongoing series begun in 2023, turns physical material into slow, glitching renders that Jules calls "an elegy for soon-to-be obsolete modes of creation in the age of AI." Selected pieces were shown at Scope Art Fair during Miami Art Week in 2023. Everything All Together (2024) runs on a network of smart contracts, so each token changes with the contracts it touches. Birds (2026) is a participatory work of 100 birds, each at Home, in a Sanctuary or Away. It debuted by livestream from a Los Angeles soundstage, with a live soundscape by Alexey Seliverstov.
