Doodles

Doodles began in October 2021 with Doodles, 10,000 pastel cartoon characters on Ethereum drawn by the Canadian illustrator Scott Martin, who works as Burnt Toast. He started the company with Evan Keast and Jordan Castro, known as Tulip and Poopie, who had worked on CryptoKitties at Dapper Labs. In February 2022 holders got Space Doodles, spaceships that each hold one Doodle and can be swapped back for it.

Julian Holguin, a former Billboard executive, became CEO in May 2022, and Pharrell Williams joined that June as chief brand officer and a board member. Seven Seven Six led the company's first funding round in September. Doodles 2, a system of customizable avatars, followed. Holders used Dooplicators, an airdropped NFT, to turn their Doodle's traits into wearables, and Genesis Boxes, auctioned in June 2022, opened in March 2023 with new wearables minted on Flow. In 2023 Doodles bought the animation studio Golden Wolf, which made Dullsville and the Doodleverse, a short film directed by Martin with songs by Williams, Lil Wayne and Coi Leray. In 2024 Doodles launched its own label, Doodles Records, to release the film's soundtrack.

The brand also moved into products. It made clogs with Crocs and a play space with Camp in Chicago in 2023, then a G-SHOCK watch, adidas Originals apparel and McDonald's holiday cups in 2024. In January 2025 Martin took over as CEO from Holguin, promising more risk and transparency, and in May the company launched the DOOD token on Solana, with 30% of the supply airdropped to Doodles holders.
