Coldie

Coldie is a stereoscopic 3D and kinetic artist based in Sacramento, California. He grew up in the gold country of Northern California and earned a BFA in graphic design at Cal Poly Pomona in 2005. From 2006 to 2010 he designed covers and concert guides for LA Weekly, and in 2009 and 2010 he was the official 3D photographer of the Coachella festival, shooting with a stereoscopic camera he built himself.

In May 2018 he minted The Day We've All Been Waiting For through R.A.R.E. Art Labs, which he describes as the first stereoscopic artwork recorded on a blockchain. That July he began Decentral Eyes on SuperRare with a portrait of Vitalik Buterin. Each portrait layers ten or more found images with 3D effects. His subjects run from Satoshi Nakamoto and Edward Snowden to Warren Buffett, a critic of crypto he chose on purpose. In 2019 he was one of the early NFT artists who helped establish a 10% royalty for artists on resales.

In June 2021 Bonhams opened its CryptOGs sale, held with SuperRare, with his Proof of Work - Genesis, a gold rush miner in a gas mask that links panning for gold to mining crypto. Later that year he and Snoop Dogg released Decentral Eyes Dogg, an animated collage of images from the rapper's life set to new audio Snoop recorded. GAZELL.iO, the digital arm of Gazelli Art House, gave him the solo show Front Row 3D in London in 2022. In December 2024 Christie's offered Warren Buffett - Filthy Fiat, his first portrait made as a physical sculpture: magnetic pieces cut from dollar bills he had buried for two years, which the owner can rearrange. Tech Epochalypse (2026) brings the same kinetic collage to five tech leaders, Elon Musk and Jensen Huang among them.
