"No Justice, No Peace" is a digital painting of activist Rodney King, that also depicts the 1992 L.A. riots. An unarmed King was beaten by LAPD officers during his arrest, as an uninvolved individual filmed the incident from a distance. The recording of the beating was covered by news media around the world and caused a public furor. The acquittal of the four officers involved led to one of the most jarring civil disturbances in U.S. history. This piece is one of eight new creations featured in my "Legends Only: Los Angeles" collection.
Los Angeles has birthed so many of the most iconic people & pop culture moments that connect us all. I wanted to create a special collection that celebrates just how much our city’s culture captivates the world. This series is a celebration of our community, but also the inherent power of pop culture, and how it connects people through shared moments of admiration, inspiration, and revelation.
