Japan's inhabitants enjoy a dignified life and great life expectancy, in addition to boasting a privileged “status” in terms of children's rights. However, despite this idyllic image, the Japanese archipelago faces certain problems related to childhood wellness.
The Japanese university system is very elitist. From kindergarten, children work very hard to get into university and there are even kindergartens in which simple access is already competitive. As might be expected, the consequences are disastrous for children, as under the constant pressure of the "duty of excellence", some end up committing suicide as the only way out. Unfortunately, in Japan there are many cases of students who go to the extreme of taking their lives because they cannot withstand the pressure that school puts on them.
With 4.9 tons of CO² emission per inhabitant per year, it could also be said that Japan's situation in terms of pollution could be improved. It has a harmful impact on the lives of children and their future prospects.
