This meticulously constructed painting by Rea explores the mutual influences between humans and the rest of the animal kingdom. The curious puppy sits in tranquility looking sublimely peaceful, until closer inspection the scene becomes aggressive and confronting. The ever-present cycle of conflict throughout nature is represented bluntly by Rea through this looping interplay of beautiful, monstrous nature.
Oil on canvas painting animated with After Effects.
