Her metamorphosis, once complete, would let her belong. Her superficial cocoon. An escape route from awkward. A lifeboat to acceptance. Rasmenia Massoud
This artwork is part of the Metamorphosis series which explores the concept of transformation, particularly when people go through pain, tragedy, or darkness in their lives. The aspiration of the work is to show how these moments, although raw and agonising, can ultimately awaken self-discovery.
Each piece in the series contains a quote from a famous psychologist which people may find helpful in their quest for happiness and growth.
The aim of the series is to bring wider awareness to mental health issues and share these incredible insights from psychology and mindfulness, that can lead for a deeper appreciation of yourself and life.
Here is one of the quotes that had a profound effect on the artist. “Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word ‘happy’ would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.” – Carl Jung
