$-Influenced by John Carpenter’s 1988, sci-fi cult classic, They Live, CONSUME THE QUEEN OF REALITY TV, was the very first piece created in the CONSUME series. Inspired by Kim Kardashian’s infamous Paper magazine cover, the word CONSUME borrows from the propaganda used by the alien invaders in They Live, to control human minds with materialism and consumerism. This landmark piece of pop art and internet meme history was created by using a limited color palette of saturated reds and blues and galvanized with the messaging style/design of WW2 propaganda posters. Nobody represents American pop culture, consumerism, materialism, social media exploitation and the byproduct of what reality TV has done to modern society like Kim Kardashian. This piece would go onto become the standard for the CONSUME series with worldwide visibility on the internet and galleries alike.
