Barcode Jesus in a World of Everyday Beeple

Barcode Jesus is now a small part of the landscape - more importantly Beeple's entry into cryptoart is the stuff of modern legend. Naturally the two had to meet and in my terms this will be at an unsaleable price that reflects the mythic 69 million Christies sale. I say 'unsaleable' but of course it's important to confuse the artwork, the price and the event of the sale so that these may be reconsidered and reflected on. Here the two works come together as a Special Edition of Barcode Jesus, in an artistic tension where I try to reflect and collide meanings within the wild west nature of art of contemporary art, value, price, commerce, culture, history and the end of history. To my mind since Hirst's 'For the Love of Gold, a diamond encrusted platinum skull, where price was purposely confused with value, Beeple has achieved a new 'high' in this inquiry outstripping older style artists like Koons (who may yet 'get it' and leapfrog everyone else). So this is effectively my homage to a bold gesture by Beeple, which made everyone sit up and take notice and importantly it's asked the world to consider what art has been and what art can become. 4k infinite loop.
