In Greek mythology, Heracles (Hercules in Roman Mythology) was given twelve labours by King Eurystheus. The first Labour given to Heracles was to slay the Nemean Lion, a vicious monster who's golden fur was impervious to mortal weapons and who's claws were sharper than swords. Heracles eventually killed the beast by strangling it with his bare hands. I have always loved mythology, in particular Greek mythology thanks in part to the classic 'Ray Harryhausen' films such as 'Jason and the Argonauts' and 'Clash of the Titans' that I watched many times as a child. I would love to paint the complete 'Twelve Tasks of Heracles' and will try my best if this piece is popular. I created this piece entirely in Autodesk's Sketchbook Pro. Thanks for looking!
