"Matterhorn" from Passing Thru (2017) is one of the most unique works in the series. The work is my dark twisted interpretation of Disneyland's legendary attraction and was inspired by a visit to park as I readied for a career based move from NYC to back to LA. Passing Thru is a very special series to me as it reflects a transitionary period in my career, moving from visual-fx to physically based / experiential installations. It was the first series where I began to explore surreal CGI landscapes, a theme that will likely continue for as long as I make digital art. Here we follow our main character once again, the man with a hat (a model of myself) as he treks through the atmospheric landscapes of a strange new world.
