Blake's series of mantras pay homage to the beneficial effects of meditation and yoga. Mantras are tools designed to help people achieve meditative states. After experiencing great loss in 2017-2018, Blake began practicing meditation and yoga. These practices helped him process the grief of losing his best friend to an overdose. Blake created a series of visual mantras to help viewers experience the benefits of meditation.
"Air Mantra" is the first visual mantra in the series. Rotating metallic circles surround an octahedron to create a feeling of oneness and balance. When studying the platonic solids, the octahedron represents air or breath. Breathing in sync with this artwork will induce a state of relaxation. Breathe out as the octahedron becomes small, and breathe in as it grows.
Because this is the first published mantra in the series, it is truly one of a kind.
