Thankful

A priest looking up to the sky to the big Father as he pictures Him in his mind, being thankful for this meal. The priest is so preoccupied with his so called gratitude to God, that he forgets one of the most basic and essential teaching of his own religion and humanity, to be compassionate and to help those in need, especially when they are right in your view.

'Thankful' is an ironic and sarcastic title, presenting a Russian priest living a lavish life, covered in expensive clothes, gold, eating all there is, while a closeby poor father and his child are waiting to see if there are going to be any scraps leftovers. A drawing based on a real memory.

The priest afterwards tells to the servant woman to wrap the food in a pack so he takes the leftovers with him. On his way out, he 'throws' a blessing over the poor family and tells them to keep praying every day. The little boy doesn't understand how prayer will stop the persistent feeling of hunger.
