Striga

It is said that life is not black and white. Dualism plays an important role in our lives, but it has value only in the passage and presence of time, mixing constantly causes that our time, i.e. life is not black and white, but has many shades. And here he will cleverly refer to the striga, the heroine of the illustrations for the album "Awake rituals". To capture a living element in an illustration, and to make an illustration live forever, it is worth keeping as much time as possible in it, telling a story as long as possible in a static image. The history of the striga goes back to ancient Slavic times, this character is very dualistic, citing the source "Striga (Polish pronunciation: [‘stʂɨɡa]) a female demon or Strigon – male equivalent is derived from an old Slavonic folk demonology. The name of this demon comes from roman “Strix” which means an owl, because the former slaves believed that a man became a Striga when he got back from the deads world as a woman with bird claws, so she can feed herself with children’s blood-this is why Striga is qualified as a vampiric demon. This way, Striga was taking revenge for harm, that she experienced as a human, and also for no worthy burial. The second one had its source in fear which included people, who noticed, that their child was possibly born with features, that could turn him into a Striga.". Based on my musical inspirations, I wanted to provide as much information as possible about Striga. Wreath, clothes, appearance, everything has been divided to reflect the dual character of the characters. To emphasize the nature of the illustrations, I also applied this procedure at the throne, the background of the illustrations - with the moon and the sun - directly symbolically referring to the life and life after death that the mythical Striga led. The pose and the instrument played by the Striga create a fairy-tale atmosphere. The legends of the strigoi to the accompaniment of hurdy-gurdy must have been great entertainment in the old days. The illustration with ebru - a universal pattern - harmonizes like my previous creations.
