$-My art themes do often show my concern about our environment, about polluted waterways to our oceans, senseless animal species slaughter and not being mindful that we are the caretakers, and that's one priority we have to make a mindset or else. This artwork was motivated by the Alberta Tar Sands, a vast raw oil gutted wasteland. I made it subtle, however, the title is there. I intended it to be landscape, however most is abstract, as I developed a contrast of flat arbitrary colours, [didn't want them too rich in colour, though], Shapes don't flow in my art; they have more of a jagged edge/angle to them. The patterns are unusual. The textural infer the short grass blades in the flat land areas of Alberta, Canada. Then the black shapes I made stark and I hoped the viewer would take another look at them in a patterned river, as 'oil', being very insidious, which proceed in a gradual, subtle way, but with harmful effects. That is what my message in the content, along with an artwork that at first is pleasing to the eye. It's a "not in your face" statement. I enjoyed the process, where spontaneity came about, shortly after I began the image. It was created in a short time and I knew when to stop.
