Distress

In the year 2207, Humans expand their existence onto new planets outside our galaxy. About half of Earth’s population spreads out onto new frontiers to exist either independently or contribute to the life of a city.

In the beginning, people of Earth were highly skeptical about leaving to start a new life. One of the wealthier investors for interplanetary commercial travel and living, Orbitome Corps, decided to build a fake city on a deserted planet and curate it as a set scene to advertise how luxurious it would be. They filmed the commercial advertisement with unknown actors happy with their choice. Some people took the bait and sold everything to buy their one-way ticket to a new life. Upon arrival they found themselves living in ghost cities that were mass produced for marketing, in the hopes they would be populating quickly. These early inhabitants spent years in near solitary confinement, only the sun to give them company. They weep to themselves, waiting for new travelers. They never came.
