Description

This digital work has been created being very influenced by the work "Mata Mua" (1892) by Paul Guagin, in his work you can see some women worshiping a sculpture that represents the goddess of the moon "Hina", one of the peculiarities of this work is that the scene is a product of Gauguin's fiction, the story of Hina is part of his imagination, as well as the shape of the statue that would not exist as such, but would have been inspired by various sources. Thanks to the recent controversy about the possible sale of "Mata Mua", I did a little more research on the subject and I had the need to make my interpretation of this goddess that Guaguin invented in his trip to Tahiti. So this piece is my Hina or what to me the whole story has aroused, somehow I have tried to personify it, placed around some abstract forms that I interpret as the unknown and uncertain that there is around the deities and their legends.
