Cherry Blossom Friends (Day)

Cherry blossoms, also known as “sakura” in Japan, are delicate white or pink flowers from cherry trees. As one of the most beautiful spring flowers, they represent the beginning of spring, a time of renewal and hope for a productive growing year.

Cherry blossom flowers are native to Asia and can be found in Japan, South Korea, India, and China. Nowadays, they have been brought all over the world and can be found growing in many other countries as well.

Cherry blossoms have deep symbolic meaning. In China, they represent love and the female mystique of strength, sexuality, and beauty.

The flowers are most cherished in Japan, with the blossoms found in all aspects of Japanese culture, from film to poetry and even paintings.

Many Japanese people believe that cherry blossoms are metaphors for human existence. From its brief lifespan, falling a couple of weeks after full bloom reminds people that a human’s life is short and beautiful like the delicate tiny flowers of Cherry blossoms.

In this piece, the cherry blossom flowers represent the fragility and transience of life, which intended to remind the audience of living in the present. The Magpie symbolizes intelligence and wit. The dragonfly symbolizes going past self-created illusions that limit our growth and ability to change. It means hope, change, and love.
