$-'Live! at the Star-Club in Hamburg, Germany' is a double album featuring performances by the Beatles, recorded December 1962 at the Star-Club during their final Hamburg stay. Even though Hamburg was not a comfortable scene, they played 5 day gigs ; 1958 off & on to 1962. In their early years in Germany they learned a lot that helped improved their skills. But this poor quality double-LP got released in 1977 by producer, Paul Murphy, with 30 Beatles songs. Their performances recorded on a home tape machine with one microphone, resulted in a low fidelity sound. Later more audio processing was to improve the sound. It finally lead to a 1977 unofficial album. Although the LP limited its commercial appeal, it does however give insight into the Beatle's Club act by the time Ringo joined. In 1998 The Beatles finally got the rights, after many tries to stop its release.
This Chuck Berry tune, 'Roll Over Beethoven' was played very fast on the Hamburg recording, sounding quite fast & hectic . This 1964 [35 seconds] of the same tune is a more polished Beatles in 1964, after they became managed by Brian Epstein.
