$-On my usual quest for something beautiful and touching, I often achieve setups I like enough to keep them, thinking that some other day I might work on them and arrive at something I really love. This is what happened with this piece, made from pictures of a glass pendant named "Echo". I had been looking for possible outcomes and quite some time later, while looking through one of my "making" folders, I found an image that spoke to me, saying "hey, come on, finish me". So I sat down and worked on many changes with duplicates, distorsions, different overlay modes, scalings, rotations, blurs and other effects to see what would underline the central piece in a way I could "approve". It wasn't as easy as I had thought. Over time, I achieved many versions I liked, but nothing that went deep enough. I knew I had to fall in love with it, else it wouldn't get anywhere. Then I stepped away a bit from the screen, washed (or at least rinsed) my brain and tried to let a different vision arrive. Somehow it arrived, I don't remember exactly. A quite dark background, a motion blur on a scaled layer, a new layer order, a few change of overlay modes, maybe some more alterations - and suddenly it was there: the angel I had been looking for! The title is borrowed from the 1983 song by the australian band "Real Life", a song I remember a lot and love even more. You should listen to it.
