The Story
This is a flat Ikosaeder that you could fold into a three-dimensional solid if it were not the head of a male study by Christian Waller form 1920.
The Process
The historical drawings are pre-studies for paintings or exercises, in order to depict the human being in its form and movement correctly. I painted polyhedric forms as watercolors and inserted them in a digital collage as a head in the drawings. The head as a place of our thoughts and calculations is replaced by mathematics. On the other hand the polyhedric forms, previously pure geometric constructs, become emotionally charged when combined with studies of the human body.
Notes
This piece has resolution dimensions of 2000 px in height and 1592 px in width.
