Primate 6 | Homo Sapiens

We are the most intelligent animal to habit the Earth. It's a shame that despite all the intelligence we accumulated as a species, did not prevent us to bring our world to the limit of sustainability. It is really remarkable that I was able to finish this series this day, August 09th, a week ago we have reached the Earth Overshoot Day for the year of 2017. If you're unfamiliar with Earth Overshoot Day, it is the day whereby humans have used up their allowance of natural resources that Earth can replenish in one year. Those resources are specifically, clean water, soil, clean air, carbon sequestration, etc. For 2017, that day was Aug. 2 according to the Global Footprint Network.

This last one has a very special meaning, represents that despite we feel so special we are sill part of the fauna of this world, one of the animals, one of the primates like the other big apes, makes us feel humble before mother nature. It is important that we see this as a modern human not a caveman, we are what we are no matter how much we evolve, how many gadgets or brands we wear.

I leave you now with the staring eyes of these six Primates, and what they might want to communicate with you...

The last of my primates series was saved for last both during the making of the collection as for minting it. It was supposed to be minted only after the first five primates were sold, and since one collector was able to purchase the other five, this one is his by right. I decided to give him this piece as a sign of my gratitude. Thanks for your support Jeffrey Rathgeber
