animalis polyedae VI

The Story

The original drawings, in addition to describing the animal, sometimes try to hint at movement. How does the animal move, in which environment does it live. The mathematical forms are not associated with movement. They are static. Here, too, these contrasts were the reason for combining them in a collage.

The Process

My collages are based on historical drawings of animals, either from early scientific expeditions or natural history studies. Using image processing, I transform individual parts of the drawn animal bodies into geometric shapes. In a final step, I combine the original drawing and the polyhedron to create a hybrid new animal.
