Submerging

I would like to dedicate this piece to all the drag queen in the world for coming out, to perform, to bring joy. In my city, which is Hong Kong, LGBTQIA+ is still a subject that a lot of people refuse to acknowledge. It was a taboo and still is a taboo to even mentioning it. I too was one of the people that being "afraid", yes, the H word, a homophobic. Simply because i'm in a society and under social pressure and being educated that what is normal and what is not. Until i saw much more tv shows and movies from the west, bringing LGBTQIA+ subject into their show making, i have been expose to many great tv shows and movies, where writers, directors, actors, bringing this issue and try to normalize it in their work, and it should be because no matter what you sex preferences are, we are all beautiful human being. One of the show I obviously love watching is drag race. Behind all the glitters and sequence, gaging wig and makeup, there is a beautiful human with beautiful soul underneath it. And yes, i saw you, from across the world, I see these beautiful soul performing and I'm shocked. I can't do much with what's going on with social issues if people refuse to change. But I can make art with my most humble gratitude to the drag community and thank you for allowing us to see how talented you all are. I'm gagged.
