Frozen Moments

A panorama of a cold winter night, camping on a frozen lake.

When all the elements align to bring you closer to the feeling of solace. A shot that I spent all winter planning and one that finally came together as the stars aligned. A fresh layer of snow, a clear sky and camera in hand.

I hiked this mountain in winter with all my hiking, camping and camera gear and spent the night under the stars. I wanted the milky way coming out of the peaks in the back ground, the peaks are called Double Cone (hence the double peaks) while also having the milky way in line with my tent.

There's nothing quite like standing out in the open, with the crisp fresh winter air brushing along your face, snuggled up in as many layers as possible, while trying to shoot with giants gloves on and knowing you are the only person enjoying this exact moment in time, in this exact way. Then to actually be able to capture this moment in one image. I love putting myself into environments that push my comfort zone as an adventurer and artist and this image represents that.
