$-An exploration in combining analog fiber art with digital elements. Using a process oriented approach and driven by playing, each phase of its construction was allowed to develop organically without a preconceived finished product in mind.
This piece began with wool that I dyed and spun into yarn. The yarn was then woven into fabric. As the colors and patterns progressed, they inspired what happened next.
The fabric was photographed and cropped to capture interesting compositions.
This segment of the cloth was animated and digitally enhanced to produce this unique result.
This particular composition and color palette reminded me of the Matrix, with a nod to a Glitch art style, and a calming rainy day quality elicited by the twisting movement of the yarns cascading downward.
Materials: wool fiber, hand dyed and handspun yarn, commercial yarn, woven fabric. Constructed by hand and digitally altered.
