Series 2 of 4: Spanish Princess In another collaboration with Phatpuppy, Spanish Princess falls in place 2 of 4 images we worked on together that include my daughter, Mary.
Getting her to pose and stay still for this was hard, considering she was only 10 months old at the time of this picture. This piece has a special meaning behind it, as do most of our works together. My daughter was adopted at birth, and I wanted to do something that honored her personal heritage. Spanish Princess shows the passion and determination of the Hispanic people by placing subtle traditional nods throughout the artwork. The rooster is beloved throughout hispanic culture as a plucky, fierce fighter, while the ladder signifies the climb that has already been achieved.
