Aztec Gods

Aztec Gods is a work made in Virtual Reality consisting of 3 acts.

We are in the ancient Mexico, we see one of its sacred pyramids releasing energy and we fly towards it, to delve into the traditional NAHUAS legends of the MEXICAN people. As we enter, we see a "GATE" that will take us to their beliefs and gods.

*Act II We move to the realms of the gods.

The first Aztec god we see is XOCHIPILLI, the Mexica god of flowers, arts, beauty, dance, love and games.

The second god is COATLICUE, she is the goddess of fertility. Her attire represents life and death, featuring a skirt of snakes. The head is replaced by 2 snakes, symbol of duality. She had his most brave son HUITZILOPOCHTLI, God of War; who is represented as a sunrise

The third god is MICTLANTECUHTLI Aztec god of death. The ruler of the underworld (MICTLAN) where he was in command over the nine underground rivers and over the souls of the dead. Some traditions survived after the conquest and that is how it was born and transformed into "the day of the dead" which is currently celebrated.

Suddenly we are on the steps of the pyramid and we climb them to enter the energy emanated by the pyramid that takes us to outer space.

*Act III An astronaut who can't believe what he sees... a life form that he does not understand... (Original Audio of Apollo 11, maybe what he saw was Quetzalcoatl) We see the great god QUETZALCOATL (called like this by the Aztecs and KUKULCAN by the Mayans) The great feathered serpent .... one of the most important gods of the Mexica culture, god of life, light, civilization and knowledge

To make the music I tried to balance pre-Hispanic sounds and modular, semi-modular and analog synthesizers. I also used samplers of ancient Aztec instruments.
