The first thing I see in the morning is the light hitting the trunk of a pine tree just outside my window. I keep my curtains open for just that and surprisingly often I wake up early enough to see a purple hue, slowly shifting towards red, then orange and yellow in a magical display, until it fades into just some light on a tree and i get on with my day. They say darkest dark is just before the dawn, meaning that with troubles in life things will seem worse before they get better. Change is a great theme in my work, especially in my paintings. This one is about the dark as much as of the color that comes out of it.
