My work is first and foremost an attempt to translate the Old Masters painterly aesthetic to the means of expression of modern photography. The image tells the story of the Princess Ariadne, who, in love with the hero Theseus, helped him to kill the Minotaur at the palace of Knossos, on the island of Crete. Theseus then abandoned her while she slept, on the Greek island of Naxos. There, she is surprised by the wine god Bacchus. He falls in love with her and asks her to marry him, offering the sky as a wedding gift, in which one day she would become a constelation. Studio photography and digital manipulation.
