Located on the island of Crete, Greece "The Prometheus Project" is a 100 ft. physical earth, fresco mural painted by artist David Popa by use of natural pigments. By using photogrammetry technology, digital artist Thaddaeus Andreades crafted this 3D sculpture by using over 400 still frames from the existing mural. The viewer is placed from the perspective of a cave dweller, witnessing the spinning, cranium like structure of Prometheus indicative of his status and wisdom as a Titan and creator of man. As the fragments of Prometheus spins on his rotational axis, time passes from day to night as the cave is illuminated from a subtle flame. This flame signifies the gift of fire given to man by Prometheus and with it, the coordinates of the earth fresco are revealed on the cave walls.
