About
Description

Most people don’t realize that the Slave Trade began early as the 15th century. Forced Labour became very common. Africans & Europeans had been trading goods & people across the Mediterranean for centuries to be enslaved. The ‘Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade’ introduced a system of slavery that was commercialized, racialized & inherited. Enslaved people were seen as commodities to be bought, sold & exploited. People of African descent were present in North America early on, that soon became a steady shipping of human cargo until around 1865. Slavery in the United States esp. in the south was cruel. Black people both men & women were transported to America quick & cheap as possible, to be sold to often brutal owners to work in coffee, tobacco, cocoa, sugar, cotton fields, mines, to being domestic slaves.
