Rise From The Ashes

Having come across an area of woodland where many ancient ash trees had been felled and branches and trunks burnt, I discovered the wonderful dark patterns of charred timber. I knew that the images I took would work well with some photographs of angel statues I had photographed in a cemetery a while back. I blended the images with the angel's features highlighted above the charred wood patterns. Nearly all ash trees in northern Europe, including the United Kingdom, are infected with ash dieback and it will decimate virtually the whole population within the next few years. These angels give me the feeling of hope that over time the species will return with a resistant strain. This however will most likely not be within my lifetime and not before all the infected ash trees in my area have gone.

I love finding smaller more intimate scenes within the landscape often involving texture, pattern, form, structure, colour, surrealism or beauty. This triptych has been created using three high resolution images and the final file size reflects the quality. Anyone collecting this image will be given the option of having an airdrop of this triptych with a white background. I can also supply high resolution single images for the collector to display individually.
