This young beech tries its best to reach the light the taller beeches let through, to make its way to the top. It's inspirational and I'm looking forward to visit this young beech again to watch its progress. The Vienna Woods are famous and occupy a lot of space around Vienna. Former royal hunting grounds they still exist and many parts are protected nowadays. I feel blessed to live in a small town south of Vienna – surrounded by the Vienna Woods and its mysteries. In autumn it has a very special atmosphere and I go out for a walk with my camera a lot – especially on foggy days.
