Surreal Custodian

2025 June #010. The Geometry of Transition

Balanced on the edge of becoming I arrange what hovers but never falls Diamond-headed sentinel of the in-between Keeper of objects that defy gravity's laws The checkerboard stretches beneath my watch While yellow splits the atmosphere in two I sit in patient blue, a necessary uniform For those who guard the threshold view These suspended forms are not mere objects But states of mind caught mid-transformation Neither solid nor liquid, past nor future Each droplet holds a world of contemplation We recognize ourselves in this strange duty Maintaining order at the edge of change Holding contradictions without resolution Finding comfort in what others find strange The custodian's task is not to understand But to maintain the delicate balance Between what we know and what we sense In that rich territory of perpetual valence
