American designer, generative artist and coder based in San Francisco. Trained at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, Grasser is best known outside the art world for co-designing the original Twitter 'blue bird' logo in 2012 — picked by Jack Dorsey from among 24 variations and used by the platform for the next eleven years. His artistic practice centres on typography, systems and repetition: in 2022 he moved on-chain with the generative collection Squares, followed later that year by Love (a series generated from tennis match data) and, in July 2023, by Themes and Variations — his celebrated collaboration with computer-art pioneer Vera Molnár that launched Sotheby's Gen Art Program on Art Blocks and sold out 500 editions in under an hour for 631 ETH. In December 2023 he released Portraits, a 12-edition series that maps letters of the alphabet to coloured rectangular tiles and reifies the digital work in Venetian-mirror aluminium frames.
