we don’t have friends - we have severance coworkers and a role we play. we talk about things we don’t care about, to people we barely know. maybe we have family. the friend circle shrinks every year.
eventually, we realize that the emptiness we feel isn’t boredom - it’s loneliness.
strange, with all this noise and stimulation around us. in a world more connected than ever, we’ve never felt more alone - and the only thing left to do is wait and watch time pass
