Remember when we were young, dumb, and full of hope for the future, and we'd dream about the house we'd build when we were rich? It would have a ball pit room and a kitchen that dispensed endless icecream and there'd be a slippery dip from the top floor all the way to the bottom floor - all the modern conveniences a child could ever need. My imaginary house never had a room featuring two metal spheres on a rotating spindle above a bunch of piston rods next to an entirely useless strip of carpet, but now that I've seen one I feel like it would have been a nice addition.

Of course, our dream houses never came to fruition, did they, because we all went on to live in a dystopian hellworld where people can't afford to pay rent because they gave all their money to a cartoon dog with a spelling problem because a callous billionaire said it would be funny but then he did a bad sketch on Saturday Night Live so the cartoon dog money stopped being fashionable and now they have to raise enough money for their dad's kidney operation by begging strangers on the internet to go fund them and if by some miracle they do raise enough money then the local news will run it as a feel good story instead of asking why this cruel state of affairs exists in the first place and why we've been so badly failed by an indifferent system that doesn't value human life and why we allow the continued existence of a class of people who profit obscenely from keeping us in economic bondage.
