## Description

The original photo is of a grouping of moss clumps that I have been observing over the years, taken with a fish-eye lens. Over time, despite how little water they get from the rain, they still come back to life when given water. Instead of dying, it goes into a dormant state, only to return slowly and steadily as it is given sustenance and attention. I find there to be a relation between the moss and myself.

My editing process entails bouncing the original photo between multiple image manipulation phone apps, then once I've become satisfied with the basis, I move it to Photoshop, where I then layer the image multiple times and apply distortion and color manipulating filters via Filter Forge to different layers with varying sequences of blending modes, cascading the effects into a form of organized chaos until, finally, a shape emerges from the dust.
