## Description

The Sargent Reframed Collection. 
CANDY

An homage, a remix, and a response to John Singer Sargent's "Portrait of Lisa Colt Curtis" (1898). 

We stand on the shoulders of the old art masters, but now we have the means to do something more than  passively observe their paintings in museums. We can remix and revive their works, giving ourselves--and the subjects of their paintings--greater agency in their history and interpretation. 

Here, Lisa reframes the stodginess of the formal high-society painting with the humble joy of being surrounded by copious columns of candy.
