## Description

The windmill at Cley next the Sea is an iconic landmark along the north Norfolk coast that I'd wanted to photograph for a number of years. Cley Mill has often been depicted by local artists and was the subject of a painting by the 20th-century English landscape artist, Rowland Hilder.

The photograph was taken from the flood defence banking near to the village. Cley next the Sea has flooded badly twice since 1950. Once in 1953 and most recently in 1978.

The photograph was taken in July 2009 on Ilford FP4 film using a Bronica SQAi 6x6 camera.
