## Description

In Zen, ensō is a circle that is hand-drawn in one or two uninhibited brushstrokes to express a moment when the mind is free to let the body create. The ensō symbolizes absolute enlightenment, strength, elegance, the universe, and mu (the void). It is characterized by a minimalism born of Japanese aesthetics. As you can see, there is no ensō symbol in this piece and I didn't plan for there to be; I wanted to write words and have the words be symbolism of ensō as a stream of my consciousness, while also explaining consciousness.

This piece was born as a way for me to mix Japanese design with my thoughts visualized on consciousness, as well as my current thoughts while doing the artwork ("legs hurt from biking yesterday" and "on my computer all fucking day doing nothing nothing nothing" for example). I got the idea of mixing words with imagery from the British artist David Shrigley and Jean-Michel Basquiat. I would explain more, but the piece of art holds more explanations than what I could say about it.
