## Description

This prelude is the first movement of a Requiem Mass, a series of pieces dealing with loss and mourning.

When I was trying to sort out what to set it to, this moment from my 2017 thru hike reiterated what the music was speaking to me. This short clip was a moment when I felt so free and wild, a place that can often feel so far away now. I think the beauty of that moment and the separation, I think that describes death's sting. When something becomes to you a memory.

He who never sleeps, grant us eternal rest.
