"THE ART OF PERMANENCE" Chapter 2 .

“While searching through my original oil paintings I noticed how some of them were damaged.”

An integral part of Alberto’s oil painting practice is a high resolution scan soon after they are completed or dry enough, in order to archive and preserve the original fidelity, in case he departs from it or it is acquired. This piece is the original scan of the dyptic oil painting from the Berlin entryway of Alberto’s former temporary residence. It brings an interesting debate to discuss: What is more important, the original painting that lives in a constant stay of decay or the digital copy file that might live archived young and preserved in the forevers?

This hallway also appears as a location in his Netflix's Love Death and Robots: " The Witness" .
