## Description

This is Mirabai or Meerabai - 16th century poetess and  Krishna devotee. 
As I painted her - I thought - which I often do while painting - trying to fathom this level of devotion that supersedes everything else .. and the fact that there has to something inside to grasp or even begin to understand  the being who we call  "God"...much less such devotion..

I lose you now and then
O my precious love, your flight
Is only to be back to my sight.

You are not to remain,
Endlessly behind the curtain
Mine are you for ever
Hidden in the temporal frolic 
O my precious love .

On your search trembles my mind,
My love ebbs and wanes .
You are endless merging with infinity 
with a smile 
washed by my tears ...
O my precious love.
