## Description

As a scientist and artist, the story of the evolution of life on our planet has always interested me. Fossil records show primitive, fern-like plants whose growth had a huge impact on the composition of the Earth's atmosphere.

In this painting, I have depicted a primitive plant which has opened, spread its leaves and is adding oxygen to the scurrying clouds. Beneath the plant, primal grasses are stirred and seem to march to the tune of a stiffening breeze.
