## Description

The "Great Whore of Babylon" describes a figure from the Apocalypse of John. This digital animation is based on a picture I originally painted on glass (https://peakd.com/art/@reinhard-schmid/whore-of-babylon-surrealistic-approach-to-the-apocalypse)

In this piece I wanted the nightmarish touch of the vision to be in the foreground. Babylon riding the monster, which I have approximated in its outer form to the mushroom cloud of a nuclear explosion. She not only remains constantly present in front of a wobbling background, but also perpetually pushes herself again and again into our field of vision in the foreground.
