## Description

An alleyway found among the ancient streets of Fenghuang Ancient Town (aka: Phoenix City) in the Hunan Province of the People’s Republic of China. This image was captured immediately following a rainstorm which revealed a scene nearly absent of people and is a rare sight in this busy tourist destination. With a reputation of being one of China’s most beautiful cities, this is an example of the striking beauty that can be found with a mix of purposefully decorated elements adorning the tightly nestled ancient buildings. Fenghuang is home to the Miao and Tujia minority groups whom strive to maintain cultural traditions and rely on tourism as a significant source of income.
