## Description

Story

"I practice, practice, practice...some day my land may be taken. I'm the only daughter of a small farming household...nevertheless I must become an Onnamusha!" (𝘧𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘪)

My process

This artwork was somewhat of a challenge to me especially with the animation and the details within the layering of the trees. I'm a self taught artist so it takes some learning but either way, I'm super happy with the end result! 

The art style

This art style is a classic inspiration from samurai showdown (game), all hand drawn leaf by leaf.
The character design was created after the background and I wanted to get a feel for the mood. Onnamusha or onnabugeisha were female samurai warriors who aren't very much spoken of within pop culture or even within martial arts, Bushido communities, so that's when I thought it's appropriate to do an onnamusha warrior. 

I hope you guys enjoy this animated piece as much as I did creating it with all the late night research.
